Air Intake System

The first key element of air conditioning and ventilation systems is the air intake. If in civil systems a simple air intake is sufficient, in shipboard systems or oil&gas and thermoelectric power plants placed in sandy areas, the air intake system requires protection accessories. The most common accessories are drop separators or sandtrap louvers. These can be equipped with heating cables to avoid the ice formation on the blades or with filters for a further air filtration. Europair has developed, tested and patented a washable metal filter with G3 efficiency, unique in the market, mainly used in air intake systems in thermoelectric plants.

Description

The air intake systems can consist of either drop separators or sand trap louvers or from a combination of the two components for installations in particularly demanding environments

  • made of galvanised steel, hot-dip galvanised steel, AISI 304 / 316, aluminium with thickness from 1.0 to 5.0 mm
  • operating range up to -55°C

Test

  • sand trap louvers: efficiency for fine and coarse sand filtration in accordance with EN 13181
  • drop separators: efficiency against rain penetration in accordance with EN 13030
  • drop separators: efficiency against mist penetration from 1 to 50 Micron according to the DHES and FSSP methodology

Accessories

  • heating cables for operation in particularly cold environments
  • filter wall with G3 / G4 / M5 / M6 panels
  • special metal, washable G3 filter panel; "Patented" version
